Weekend Getaway

This weekend I got to sneak off to the RIC for four days.  It was so nice getting out of Charleston and away from the daily life headaches.

Savannah and I headed north on Friday morning and got in around 3pm.

Here's my co-pilot:

That night Mom, Dad, Andy and I ate at The Boathouse.  It was great being all together and having fun.  Mom even had herself a strawberry dacquari.  Watch out world!!  Sadly, I left my camera sitting on the kitchen table.

Saturday morning was my girlfriend, Michele's, baby shower.  She's due in July with little guy Jayden.  She looks so cute with her little baby bump.  All baby.  I also got to see an old, dear friend, Lisa.  I haven't seen her since highschool graduation in 199freakin'7.  It is so nice catching up with old friends-it is never awkward or weird.  You just pick up right where you left off.  I first met Lisa when we were in 6th grade and Michele in 8th grade.  That's a long effin' time ago when you are almost 32 years old young.

Mom and I hit Short Pump Shopping Center on Sunday but it must have been in between seasons.  We didn't really find much.  However, we did laugh our butts off in Saxon shoes in the card section.  Those cards were so inappropriate but so damn funny.

Here are some pics with the fam this weekend.  I miss my home state and my family....

What did you do this weekend?

Spring has sprung here

I don't know about your weather, but ours has been gorgeous!!  And my bulbs that I planted HERE have bloomed.

There are still a few more varieties to come up that I can't wait to see.  More poor little dafodils are not blooming though.  I don't think I planted them in good soil.  They try so hard every year, but only one blooms.  I am thinking I need to dig them up and replant.  Yeah-in my spare time....

Here's hoping Spring is a fabulous time for everyone.  Enjoy the beautiful weather wherever you may be.

Hookers....

Probably an inappropriate blog title, but I made you look didn't I?  Ha ha..

So my jewelry box has been busting with random, fun necklaces and I needed a way to hang them up so that they didn't get all tangled.  World Market had these fun little tiled HOOKS for $2 each.   So I bought 5 and put them up in my closet behind my closet door.  And it makes me smile.   It's like a little pop of fun behind the door.  Only I will ever see this and its cute right?!

I also have fallen in love with a necklace Courtney Cox wore on Cougar Town.  I found an ETSY seller who made a reproduction.  It arrived with in a little over a week in a cute little pouch AND she threw in a pair of earrings complimentary.  LOVE little touches like that.  I can't wait to wear this and I think that I'll get a lot of wear out of it.  (Thanks JCHOKIE for turning me onto ETSY and helping me with my panic moment of "should I buy this?"

Here's the necklace on CC:

As pictured on ETSY by:  Lunacielo

Here it is on my dresser:
I think I should go shopping and buy some outfits to wear with this.  B/c surely I don't have anything in my closet that would work with that.  Right friends?? wink wink....

Sunday Funday

After a long week and Saturday working our three jobs, we took Sunday as our "Funday."  This is how we ended our day and might I add, I have had a wonderful day.  Hope your Sunday was a Funday too.

Meet Charlie

I've been eyeing this puppy up since the fall of 2010 at a really cool lighting company in Charleston.  I told myself if it is there the next time you go in (for work mind you) that you can "consider" it.

Enter Saturday afternoon.  I had to go there to get some new lamp shades for work and there he is, just staring at me, begging me to buy him.  I talk the owner down 20% and low and behold my dining room goes from this:

To this:

Yes, I realize that there are two Christmas reindeer in the background.  They make me smile when I see them and yes, maybe I don't feel like dragging the step stool out to get them down, but whatever.  It is my house.  :)

Could I have been more responsible and saved my money, yep I sure could have.  But when you fall in love you do stupid things and boy do I love Charlie.

Dresser complete

The dresser is complete and is finally back up in the third bedroom.  The hardware we ordered for it was on back order-but so worth the wait.  Great job babe on your first (yes I said first-there will be more) refinishing project.  :)

The teddy bear has a hangover.....

A weekend in the mountains

We took off on Friday for a weekend on Lake Keowee in the upstate of South Carolina.  One packed SUV with two dogs, dog necessities, 3 phones, 1 IPAD, one laptop, 2 IPODS, 1 Kindle, and 1 happily packed Clarisonic and we were off and ready.  (We seriously have a technology issue and are currently  searching for a therapist)  Oh and did I mention the most important part?  Two tickets to the Virginia Tech vs. Clemson basketball game.  Yeah, so the Hokies didn't really show up for the game and unfortunately, Chad's team won.  But it was so much fun to be back in a college setting-even if it wasn't MY college.  It was fun seeing where Hammond went to school.

I was dressed appropriately as a HOKIE-that did get me some looks....especially after we got our asses kicked, lost the game.

We had a great time on Friday exploring a water fall not too far from where we were staying on the lake.  We made it up there right as it started to rain.  And let me say that it never stopped raining after Friday evening.  The whole weekend was a wash out.  But fun nonetheless.

After our walk to the falls, we played Savannah's favorite game-STICK.  That dog is one crazy puppy for a stick.  (Cooper loves a good tennis ball)  Here are some of my action shots:

Yes, that would be Savannah dragging next to Cooper hanging on for life onto that poor stick

She's not as homicial as she appears to be....
Thanks Chad for an awesome weekend up at Clemson.  Yes, it rained the WHOLE time we were there, but it was fun to get away and spend time with you and my two favorite dogs.  Love you.

Oh I love weekends!

Friday R-O-C-K-E-D my world.  Wanna know why?  Because this beautiful thing finally got delivered and yes, I spent my Friday cleaning my floors from top to bottom.  I was like a fat kid in an all you can eat donut factory.

What a beautiful weekend in Charleston.  You can't beat late "winters" here.  Upper 70's, a slight breeze and the S-U-N!  It was a little too windy for the boat, so we stayed around the house on Saturday.  I decided I'd paint the second bedroom walls the same color as the stripe I painted a year and a half ago.  I also picked up a mirror on clearance at Kirklands that really helps open up the room.  Pictures to come once Chad finishes with the new window trim he put up in there.

Saturday night 6 of us went to see Ron White at the Performing Arts Center.  I don't know if it was the 1/2 bottle of Skinny Girl Margaritas that made him so funny, but damn I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time.  It was so good for me.  And Chad was doing his belly laughs that make me want to pee myself laughing.  It was such a good night. Finally....

Sunday was spent at the outlets and I got some really cute things from Banana.  Not too much exciting in there right now, so hopefully they get a new shipment in, but all in all a good day.

Back to the grind today.  I did get a Clarisonic today and loved it on my first use.  If it can get rid of these hormonal zits, I'll marry it.   I even talked my man into using it.  :)

Can't wait for this upcoming weekend!  It is VT vs. Clemson basketball.  Let's go HOKIES!
